Learning About Belle Sherman's School Climate
January 2010
Last year, Site Council – which includes parents, teachers, and our principal – started talking about the school climate here at Belle Sherman. By school climate, we mean the beliefs, values, and attitudes that affect how people interact and get along within a school community. A positive school climate has been linked to feelings of safety, effective teaching and learning, as well as healthy relationships and behaviors. The Site Council wants to better understand Belle Sherman’s school climate, and we need your help. We plan to talk to families, staff, and students throughout the year to learn more about our school climate.
If you would like to talk to someone about any hurtful behaviors that your child has experienced at Belle Sherman, please contact the princapal at 274-2206.
