Mission statement: DeWitt Middle School strives to provide a meaningful education experience for all students by fostering academic excellence and effective communication; teaching skills for exploration, problem solving and independent learning; guiding the social, emotional, creative and physical development of students; and preparing functional and responsible citizens.

About our school: What makes DeWitt so special is our diverse student population. We have a large ESL population representing about 30 languages. Our faculty is known for its dedication to excellence in teaching. Our teachers embrace many teaching philosophies and learning styles to help individual students. Our faculty, administration and staff firmly believe that every child can learn and grow in a positive way. The faculty is organized by grade teams and by departments.
