The school nurse provides the school community with health and safety support including, but not limited, to the following:

• Mandated vision, hearing and scoliosis screenings
• Student’s cumulative health records, including immunization records
• First aid and emergency response
• Health education for students, staff and families
• Collaboration and communication about health needs for students
• Communicable disease control
• Health promotion strategies
• Direct skilled nursing care
• Guidance for families
• Interscholastic sports approval
