MODERN ROADS in the TOWN OF CAROLINE

In 1997, the busiest road in the Town of Caroline is New York State Route 79. This road travels the same route as the old Catskill Turnpike! Now we can travel this road in cars and trucks, in buses, and in school buses. We can go to Crispell's Garage which has been in the same place for many years. Crispell's has had responsibility for horse and wagon service before the time of the automobile, and for early school bus travel from Caroline to Ithaca.

Rt. 79 reminds us of our Town of Caroline's traveling history.
