Our district has made a substantial committment to educational technology use. Each of our twelve schools has received a significant amount of new technology hardware and software over the past several years in response to proposals generated at the building level. Much of our focus has now shifted from equipment acquisition to supporting teachers as they work to integrate technology into the teaching and learning environment. As a guide in this effort, we have adopted Technology Literacy Standards (K-8.)
Staff development is an essential element of our efforts to adjust the content and means of delivering our curriculum to students in this new century. We have two full time Technology Integration Staff Developers, Roger Sevilla (6-12), and Andrew Yale (PreK-5), and a crew of Technology Mentors in the schools.
