Welcome! I hope that I can assist you to use technology to motivate your students, and to deepen and give wings to their learning. My job is to provide assistance, including training, coaching, and modeling, of computer use in the elementary classroom.

In my work as an intermediate teacher I have become increasingly excited by the opportunities for enriching learning via computers. Technology integration engages learners, and offers a means to differentiate instuction to increase its relevence and make it more effective. Fluency in information and communication technologies is now a central element of literacy. Because of the capacity of technology to excite learners and give them power to express their learing, I see it as a tool for equity.

I can advise and help you with a range of activities, from increasing professional productivity to finding ways to improve teaching and learning in many curricular areas with technology.

I work closely with Roger Sevilla, secondary Technology Staff Developer, to plan for technology integration and to facilitate the district Technology Mentor group. The Technology Mentor group, Roger, and I provide training and follow-up support for teachers as they work to integrate technology into their curricula.

My office is in the ICSD Professional Development Center (PDC) located in room F33 at Ithaca High School. The PCD is a space for district-wide training, equipped with new and emerging technologies, which all ICSD staff can access. The PDC is an exciting resource that enables us to research, design, explore, evaluate and collaborate in a creative environment. As we plan and deliver workshops and trainings, both in and out of the PDC, I believe that you will find many interesting opportunities for technology training and professional development.
